were looking up at me when I removed the carpet from my compost heap, about 2 dozen of them.  Didn't realise straight off until they all started to scarper, about a dozen rats 6" without the tail.  Going to have to lay some poison in my shed, that's the last place I want them at the moment.  Shoveled a layer a of ash from the fire on the heap for now, hope that will stop them returning.  Bless em, they were having a lovely siesta under there.

I wish we could train the rats to deal with the rabbits, we could solve two problems that way. Grin

We had a rabbit taken from our plot by a bird of prey, possibly one of those Buzzards.  We found a rabbit foot on top of the pallets around our compost heap.  I don't think a fox would jump up there to eat it.
